“This is a dream come true to me – a little girl who used to have holes in her shoes back in the day to actually be here with such an amazing artist that I’ve admired for so long,” chirped Jennifer Lopez from a podium inside the Beverly Hills Neiman Marcus. The entertainer greeted a smiling crowd before spending the next few hours autographing shoes from her new Giuseppe for Jennifer Lopez line.

The collection, which was a collaborative effort between Lopez and Giuseppe Zanotti, officially launched on Thursday night. It is currently available in Giuseppe Zanotti Design stores worldwide and on giuseppezanottidesign.com.

“We’ve talked about working together for years and finally here we are,” said Lopez on a blue carpet prior to the festivities. The actress, who stunned in a front-slit dress, kicked out her leg to show off her “Leslie” shoes. “This is the sexiest shoe,” she cooed as photographers snapped away. “I just love the color. I call it Jennifer pink!”

The line comes in six different styles and a total of 15 color combinations, which include:

Lopez, who coins herself a full-fledged shoe aficionado, has lost track of how many pairs she owns at this point but says that her latest collaboration has definitely upped the numbers. “I’ve never counted them. I wouldn’t say I have thousands, but it’s a lot!” she revealed. Zanotti explained that pairing up with the diva was an extremely pleasing experience. “It’s easy to work with her because she’s sensitive and she’s easy,” he explained. JLo added that she was in awe of the renowned designer’s talents and that she thoroughly enjoyed learning the craft of shoe making. “My favorite part was just spending time together — being able to talk to somebody who does this about what they do was an honor and a blessing and a good time. I’m not an expert in this field. I can only bring to the table my own sensibilities but it was a beautiful experience.”

Before heading inside for the event, Lopez pushed a button on the step and repeat that dropped a curtain to reveal a Neiman Marcus window display of mannequins outfitted in gowns from her past red carpet, award show, and stage endeavors. One of which, was the infamous green Versace silk chiffon dress that she wore to the 42nd Grammy Awards ceremony in February 2000. Lopez oohed and ahhed over the memories and poked fun at the fact that the dresses covered up the feet of the mannequins. “Where are the shoes?” she chirped. Zanotti cheerfully instructed the singer to “look up” at the shoes that hung down from the ceiling in the center of the display. “There they are!” she proclaimed.

Inside the store, guests sipped on champagne and nibbled on tuna tartar while shopping JLo’s new footwear line. A clan of female models stood on platforms wearing white dresses and showing off the various shoes from the new collection. It was an elegant soiree and Lopez wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Prices for Giuseppe for Jennifer Lopez range from $795 to $2,995.
